One such activity is taking in the colorful lights at Gardens Aglow in Midcoast Maine.
What to Know about the Annual Event
The Coastal Maine Botanical Garden is one of the most beautiful attractions in the Boothbay Harbor region. However, this spot becomes even more picturesque during the winter thanks to Gardens Aglow. Running from about mid-November through the end of the year, this annual event attracts visitors from all over looking to take in the stunning displays.
Over 750,000 LED lights are woven through 14 acres of central gardens, bringing an extra dose of color to an already stunning sight. The route is about one mile and can take up to two hours. Tickets go on sale towards the end of September, and we highly encourage you to purchase them as soon as possible.
As this is an outdoor event, be sure to dress for the weather. We recommend layers, including some type of waterproof jacket, in case of snow. The display will only close if the forecast has major, unsafe weather. There is some food available for sale, and the gift shop is open as well if you’re looking for any unique presents.
