General Policies

Arrivals & Departures:

Check in: 4:00pm – 9:00pm. Early Check-in requests are subject to availability on the day and will incur an Early Check-in fee. Contact us if you plan to arrive after 8pm.

Check out: by 10:00am. Late check-out fees may apply.

General Policies:

One night’s deposit and a valid credit card is required to guarantee a reservation. Guests must be 21+ to check in to the resort. Room rates are based on double occupancy, room type and include complimentary breakfast. Additional guests, 6 years and older, will be charged to your accommodation based on the number of guests selected. Children ages 0-5 stay for FREE. Guest parking is self-parking on-site. Maine Lodging Tax of 9% is calculated on all room rates and additional guests and pet fees.

Guarantee and Deposit Policy:

Reservations require a deposit of one (1) night’s stay (plus 9% Maine Lodging Tax) per room reserved. This will be charged to your credit card at the time the reservation is made. The reservation will be guaranteed to the credit card provided at the time of booking. In the event of a no-show, the credit card will be charged for the remainder of the booking plus tax.

Advanced Purchase – Non-Refundable bookings:

If you book a non-refundable, Advance Purchase Rate, 100% of the rate will be charged to your credit card at the time the reservation is made. No refunds, changes, or cancellations may be made after booking, for any reason.

Cancellation Policy:

If you cancel your reservation more than 14 days before arrival, a cancellation fee of $25 applies. If you choose to reschedule your reservation you will not be charged the cancellation fee and the deposit will be converted into a lodging credit valid for one year. Deposits become non-refundable for cancellations within 14 days of the arrival date. There is no refund for a no-show or early departure for any reason.

Travel Protection warranty:

Guests who pre-purchase the Travel Protection warranty at the time of booking must pay 100% of the reservation at the time of the booking plus the warranty fee. Travel Protection may only be purchased at the time of booking. Cancellations within 14 days of the reservation for reasons that are covered by the Travel Protection warranty may be eligible for reimbursement if the terms and conditions are met. Occupancy:

Rates are based on Double Occupancy. For each additional guest in a room there is an additional fee of $30 per person per night. Children 5 and under stay for FREE. Each room must have at least one person who is 21+ years of age. Maximum 2-4 per room.

Non-Smoking Policy:

All Smuggler’s Cove Inn accommodations, balconies and public areas are non-smoking. Smoking is not allowed within 20 feet of any building or balcony. This includes, but is not limited to, cigarettes, cigars, vapes, and marijuana. Smoking is permitted at designated smoking areas only. Violation of the smoking policy will result in a $250 fee.

Pet Policy:

Dogs are welcome in designated pet-friendly rooms. There is a $50 fee per dog per stay which is automatically charged to pet-friendly rooms. Please alert us at the time of booking if you are bringing your dog. Do not leave your dog unattended. All dogs must be kept on a leash when outside the room and please pick up after them. Dogs are not permitted in Pool Area. Please see our Pet Friendly page for more information. Note: Animals other than dogs are not permitted on the property.

Guest Release of Liability:

In consideration of being allowed to use the waterfront facilities and equipment available to guests and visitors of Smuggler’s Cove Inn including, but not limited to, the pool, kayaks, paddleboards and rowboats, and games and activities, you acknowledge that you assume all risks arising from your use and that of your family members or guests of such facilities and equipment, even if arising from the negligence of the Releasees or others, and assume full responsibility for that activity. Life jackets must be worn at all times when using open water activities. This property is privately owned, and management reserves the right to refuse service to anyone, for any reason allowed by law, and will not be responsible for accident or injury to guests or for loss of money, jewelry or valuables of any kind.
