A Checklist of Bingo Card Stops

The craft brewery scene did not skip Midcoast Maine. The breweries near our East Boothbay resort have something for every palate, from IPAs to something a little out of the ordinary.

  • Boothbay Craft Brewery is more than just a brewery. The family-owned business is part brewery, part tavern. Before sampling them yourself, take a tour to see how their award-winning brews are created.
  • Just about 10 minutes away from Smuggler’s Cove Inn is Footbridge Brewery. This small-batch brewery uses as many Maine-sourced ingredients as possible. Stop by the family-friendly tasting room to relax while sipping on one of their various creations.
  • Located in nearby Wiscasset, Bath Ale Works is a family-owned brewery that started with a simple email between father and son. Their tap list contains everything from Kolschs to IPAS and ales.
  • One of the more remote breweries on the card, Monhegan Brewing involves a ferry to reach it. The small brewery on Monhegan Island always has five beers on tap with other can and bottle options. For the most up-to-date flavors, call ahead to see what’s available.
  • If you’re planning to visit Newcastle, check out Oxbow Brewing Co., a small farmhouse brewery. Walk around the orchard to see where they grow the fruit for their beer before returning to the tasting room. You’ll find a range of brews, from fruited beer to mixed fermentation beer.

Don’t forget to grab a growler or six-pack of your favorite beers to enjoy at in your room or to bring home with you.
